پیشینه و اهداف: در هند، آموزش پزشکی مبتنی بر شایستگی در مرحله اولیه اجرای خود است که در سال 2019 در سراسر کشور اجرا شد. دانش آموزان به عنوان معیار پایه این مطالعه با هدف: الف) سنجش مهارت های ارتباطی دانشجویان پزشکی و ب) ارزیابی میزان رضایت اعضای خانواده از آموزش های بهداشتی ارائه شده توسط دانشجویان پزشکی به جامعه انجام شد. مواد و روش ها: طرح مطالعه: مطالعه مقطعی محل مطالعه: منطقه تمرین صحرایی مرکز آموزش بهداشت روستایی کالج و بیمارستان های پزشکی چیرایو، بوپال شرکت کنندگان در مطالعه: 55 پسر و 55 دختر در ترم 3 دوره پزشکی MBBS تحصیل می کنند. ابزار مطالعه: 1) چک لیست ارتباطی عناصر ضروری کالامازو برای سنجش مهارت های ارتباطی دانشجویان استفاده شد. 2) پرسشنامه اقتباس شده از هیئت پزشکی داخلی آمریکا برای اطلاع از میزان رضایت اعضای خانواده که توسط دانشجو مشاوره شده است. نتایج: اکثریت (70 درصد) دانش‌آموزان در رده‌های «ضعیف» و «عادلانه» رتبه‌بندی شدند و هیچ دانش‌آموزی در رده «ممتاز» قرار نداشت. دختران بالاتر از پسران امتیاز گرفتند و تفاوت در نمرات از نظر آماری معنی دار بود. دختران در مقوله‌های «خیلی خوب» و «عالی» در نمرات رضایت ذینفعان بهتر از پسران عمل کردند و تفاوت بین جنسیت‌ها از نظر آماری معنی‌دار بود. نتیجه گیری: این مطالعه توجه را به نیاز به تلقین عادات مهارت های ارتباطی خوب در بین دانش آموزان در طول سال های شکل گیری از طریق آموزش مبتنی بر برنامه درسی جلب می کند. |

BASELINE ASSESSMENT OF COMMUNICATION SKILLS OF UNDERGRADUATE MEDICAL STUDENTS AT A MEDICAL COLLEGE IN BHOPAL |

Background & Objectives: In India, competency-based medical education is in the initial stage of its implementation which was rolled out countrywide in the year 2019. To develop/modify teaching-learning method of communication skills among students, it is necessary to assess the level of communication skills of the students as a baseline measure. The study was conducted with the objectives to a) assess the communication skills of medical students b) assess the level of satisfaction of household members with the health education imparted by the medical students to the community. Methods: Study design: Cross-sectional study Study setting: Field practice area of Rural Health Training Centre of Chirayu Medical College and Hospitals, Bhopal Study participants: 55 boys and 55 girls studying in the 3rd semester of the MBBS medical course. Study instrument: 1) Kalamazoo essential elements communication checklist was used to assess the communication skills of students. 2) Questionnaire adapted from American Board of Internal Medicine to find out the level of satisfaction of household member counseled by the student. Results: The majority (70%) of students were rated in the "poor" and "fair" category of ratings and no student was in the "excellent" category. Girls scored above boys and the difference in scores was statistically significant. Girls did better than boys in the "very good" and "excellent" categories in beneficiary satisfaction scores and the difference between genders was statistically significant. Conclusions: The study draws attention to the need for inculcating habits of good communications skill among students during formative years through curriculum-based training. |
