عنوان انگلیسی Relationship between health literacy and Special quality of life and body image in Women Undergone Mastectomy at Reproductive Age
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Aim: Investigating the health literacy level of mastectomized women and its relationship with special quality of life and their body image was the aim. Method:This cross-sectional study was done on 225 women in reproductive age (15-49) with breast cancer and having a mastectomy referred to Sina hospital-breast surgery clinic, Breast Research Center of Jahad Daneshgahi affiliated to Tehran University and Oncology unit of Mahdieh hospital affiliated to Martyr Beheshti University in 2013-2014..Four questionnaires used: The Health Literacy of the Iranian Adults (HELIA), Standard questionnaire of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC version 3.0),special edition of Breast Cancer (QLQ-BR 23), and a Special questionnaire for body images.Data analyzed by descriptive,and statistical test. Findings:35.1% of the participants had high health literacy.There is a meaningful statistical relationship between job, education and health literacy of participants (P=0.001).The Linear regression test confirmed the meaningful relationship between the global quality of life index (P=0.042). Fatigue (17.52±55.7) and pain (24.87 ± 38.22) had the strongest impact on quality of life of the studied patients and nausea and vomiting with the lowest mean scores of 13.45 ± 6 were known as the less effective symptom scales. The investigation of the relationship between feeling of body image and job and between feeling of body image and age reveals no meaningful statistical relationship. Conclusion:women's health literacy is closely related to their education level; on the other hand, higher education level provides them with more body image disorders.
