عنوان انگلیسی Effect of Information and Communication Technology on Self-efficacy and academic achievement of Kerman Students
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Aims: Considering the evolution in schools and growth of smart schools, we tried to compare the variables of self-efficacy and academic progress of smart schools students with conventional schools students in Kerman. Methods: In this study, 300 students of grade 8 studying in Kerman (145 smart school student and 155 conventional school student) were analyzed. Data was collected by standardized academic self-efficacy questionnaire of Jinks –Morgan. The criterion of students' academic achievement was the average of the whole year before. Data was analyzed using SPSS-20 software, independent t-test and linear regression. Results: Statistical analysis showed that academic achievement in conventional and smart schools is statistically different. So that students of smart schools had better academic achievement than ordinary schools (P = 0.000). While the self-efficacy of the two groups did not differ significantly. There was a significant direct correlation between students' academic achievement and their self-efficacy score (r=0.159, p=0.006). Also, there was a significant statistical difference according to the type of school, occupation and education level of parents (p< 0.0001). Conclusion: Considering the positive impact of using information technology on students' progression and the positive relationship between self-efficacy and academic achievement, qualitative and quantitative development of smart schools in conjunction with some interventions to increase students' self-efficacy is necessary.
