عنوان انگلیسی Evaluation of Lumbar Disk Herniation Risk Factors in Patients with Low Back Pain: A Case-Control Study in Hamedan, Iran
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Introduction: Low back pain due to lumbar disk herniation could be collaborated with a various risk factors. In this study, we focused on analysis of lumbar disk herniation risk factors in patients with low back pain. Method: This study is a comparative cross-sectional study conducted in Hamedan-Iran in 2014-2015. In this study 58 cases with evidences of lumbar disk hernia were classified as a case group and 47 cases without evidences of lumbar disk herniation were classified as a control group. The data collection was performed by using a questionnaire and the statistical analysis was performed by using SPSS software; version 22.0. Results: The analytic results of this study indicated a meaningful correlation between demographic variables as body mass index (BMI) mean, occupation type and lumbar disk hernia (P< 0.05). Furthermore, the analysis showed the abdominal circumference and the average heavy load carried by the participants throughout a day had a significant relationship with lumbar disk herniation (P< 0.05). Conclusion: Based on the findings, we conclude there are multiple risk factors for lumbar disk hernia regarding to a combination of genetics and acquired characteristics and life style.
