Introduction: Social entrepreneurship in the rural tourism industry, as a novel approach, aims to create social and environmental values alongside economic profit. This type of entrepreneurship can contribute to the sustainable development of local communities and improve their living conditions. By establishing local businesses, job creation and income generation increase, while preserving indigenous culture and traditions. Furthermore, social entrepreneurs can develop sustainable and environmentally friendly projects that help conserve natural resources. Ultimately, this approach enhances cultural identity and raises awareness among local communities about the importance of sustainable tourism. Social entrepreneurship in rural tourism can facilitate the creation of sustainable jobs and the preservation of local culture, while improving the quality of life for the community and attracting tourists to authentic and indigenous experiences. The aim of this research is to present a model of social entrepreneurship in rural tourism. Methodology: This research is a qualitative study based on applied research objectives and is descriptive in terms of data collection. To gather data, theoretical foundations and previous studies were reviewed to identify the indicators of social entrepreneurship in rural tourism. The study population included scientific resources related to social entrepreneurship and rural tourism from 2010 to 2022, from which 52 articles were extracted, ultimately using 31 articles. In the Delphi method, the statistical population consisted of experts in the fields of entrepreneurship and tourism. Sample selection in content analysis was purposive, focusing only on texts most relevant to the research topic. Finally, 13 specialists in entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and rural tourism were selected to respond to the Delphi questions. Initially, the indicators of social entrepreneurship were identified and analyzed through content analysis. Then, in three rounds of the Delphi method, the most important dimensions were identified and prioritized. For data analysis in content analysis, subjective methods were used, while descriptive statistics such as counting, percentages, and averages were used to analyze questionnaire and interview data in the Delphi method. The identified indicators in the Delphi phase were confirmed or rejected based on expert agreement. Findings: The results of the study indicate that the model of social entrepreneurship in rural tourism comprises 10 components and 50 indicators. The identified components include: creating social value, economic sustainability, environmental protection, providing job opportunities, skill development, collaboration with stakeholders, attention to local culture, creativity and innovation, participatory management, and infrastructure development. Discussion and Conclusion: Social entrepreneurship in rural tourism is an effective tool for the sustainable development of local communities. This approach aids in creating sustainable jobs, increasing residents' income, and preserving the environment and local culture. By focusing on community needs and optimizing resource use, social entrepreneurship fosters a sense of belonging and participation, leading to sustainable tourist attraction and improved quality of life in rural areas. |
