Aim: This study was aimed to predict latent marital aggression and fear of intimacy based on self-compassion with the mediating role of guilt in married people. Method: The present study was applied in terms of purpose. And in terms of the method of collecting the descriptive data, the correlation method was used. The statistical population of the study included four thousand married people working in the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting in Tehran. According to Morgan's table, 350 married men and women were randomly selected as a sample and answered Reese (2011) Self-Compassion Questionnaire, Deskatner and Tellen Fear of Intimacy (1991), Nelson and Carroll (2006) Hidden Communication Aggression, and self-conscious of Tangney, Wagner, & Gramzow, 1989. Pearson correlation coefficient and path analysis were used for data analysis. Results: The findings of data analysis showed that there is a significant relationship between the effect of self-compassion on latent aggression with the mediation of guilt (β = 0.16, P = 0.01). And there is a significant relationship between the effect of self-compassion on fear of intimacy with the mediation of guilt (β = 0.19, P = 0.01). Conclusion: According to the obtained results, it can be concluded that guilt can play a mediating role between self-compassion and latent aggression, and fear of intimacy in married people. |
