Abstract: I n the Operation Valfajr-8, the 33 rd Al-Mahdi(atfs) Brigade was commissioned to cross the river, break the first line of the enemy positions and clear the taken bridgehead using the especial diver forces and to operate as the subordinate of Noah Headquarters. In the next stage, the mission of this division was to encounter with the Iraqi army counterattacks, prevent the advance process of the enemy and maintain the products of the first stage of the operation. Then, this brigade and a number of the other IRGC units were to create a defensive line to consolidate the occupied area. The narrator of the IRGC Center for War Studies and Research in the 33 rd Al-Mahdi(atfs) Brigade, Samizadeh, has been present in the brigade headquarters and accompanied the brigade commander, Jaafar Asadi, in every day and night to record the various stages of planning, reconnaissance, managing and implementing the operation. After the operation, he has gathered the related documents and interviewed with a number of effective personnels of the 33 Al-Mahdi (atfs) Brigade. Then, he has provided the report of the operation using the collected notes, tapes, and documents. The main report is maintained in the databank of the The IRGC Center for War Studies and Re-search (now, The IRGC Center for Holy Defense Documentation and Research) under code 650.
