چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Introduction:ThePowderedActivatedCarbonTreatment(PACT)hasbeenproposedasanalternativeinwastewatertreatmentandwastewaterbiomassprotectionagainsttoxicsubstances.ThisstudyaimstoevaluatePACTperformanceintreatingdyes,acidorange,andremazolbrilliantreactiveblue. Methods:Thisempirical-appliedresearchwascarriedoutinpilotscaleinwhichdifferentdyeremoval systems were tested:activatedsludge,PAC,andthecombinedactivatedcarbon–biomasssystem.ThedegradabilityofselecteddyeswasevaluatedthroughZahn-Wellensmethod.Also,testscontinuedbyaddingdifferentconcentrationsofpowderedactivatedcarbonanditseffectonactivatedsludgeindifferentoperatingconditionswasinvestigated.AmericanDyeManufactureInstitute(ADMI)methodwasutilizedfordeterminationofdyeremovalinsamples. Results:Resultsrevealedthatdyeremovalincombinedcarbon–biomasssystemwasfasterandmoreefficientthanactivatedsludgeindividually.So,inthewastewaterwiththedyeconcentrationof100ppm,thedyeremovalsthroughbiologicalprocessalonewereequalto60%and12.5%foracidicandreactivedyes,respectively.ThebestPACefficiencyinactivatedsludgeprocesswasobtainedin1500mg/LPACconcentration.HydraulicRetentionTime(HRT)andtheoptimumtemperatureofdyes'removalweredetermined28hoursand30°C,orderly;intheseconditionsthedyeremovalefficiencyof98.18%wasobtained.Alsothedyeremovalusingactivatedcarbon–biomasssystemwasadequatelydescribedbycombiningthekineticequations. Conclusion:PACTcouldbeconsideredasanacceptableandhighlyefficientmethodforremovalofdifferentdyesintextileindustry
