Effect of COVID-19 Vaccines on Hair Loss
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to the global distribution of vaccines, but there are concerns regarding potential side effects. Hair loss is one of the less commonly reported side effects. The purpose of this research is to examine whether or not vaccination against COVID-19 is linked to an increased risk of baldness in urban dwellers. A cross-sectional study was conducted with 580 participants aged between 20 to 72 years, consisting of 270 males and 310 females, who were classified based on their sociodemographic status. Machine learning techniques were employed to analyze the data and determine any potential correlation between COVID-19 vaccines and hair loss. Hair loss was reported in 15% of the participants, with a higher prevalence among females. The machine learning model indicated that female participants who had received COVID-19 vaccines were more likely to report hair loss compared to their male counterparts. Moreover, participants with comorbidities such as hypertension, diabetes, and allergy had a higher prevalence of hair loss compared to those without comorbidities. According to this study, COVID-19 vaccinations may cause hair loss in urban populations, particularly in females. More research is needed to validate these findings and study the underlying processes that may be contributing to this link.
