عنوان انگلیسی Investigating the effect of nifedipine and indomethacin on the number of uterine contractions, CRP and the number of white blood cells in pregnant women with idiopathic preterm labor.
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Aims: In preterm delivery, uterine contractions begin prematurely and lead to the opening of the cervix. Nifedipine and Indomethacin drugs can help reduce contractions and delay childbirth.  However, there are contradictions regarding their effect on preterm birth and inflammatory factors. . The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of nifedipine and indomethacin on the uterine contractions, CRP and white blood cells in pregnant women with idiopathic preterm labor.  Material and Methods: The present study was a single-blind clinical trial study. 68 eligible pregnant women, who were hospitalized with premature labor pains, were selected and randomly assigned to two groups. With tocography, the number of fixation contractions must have at least four contractions higher than 15 mm Hg. Before interventions and 48h after interventions, the number and time of contractions, cervical dilatation, WBC, DIFF, and CRP tests were measured. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 25 software.  Finding: Both of interventions improved the number and time of contractions, CRP and neutrophil. However, there were no significant differences in these variables between Nifedipine and Indomethacin groups. The results of the study showed a statistically significant difference between groups in the number of eosinophil and monocytes after the intervention (P< 0, 05).  Conclusion According to the results of the present study, the response of treatment after 48 hours was similar in both groups receiving indomethacin and nifedipine. Indomethacin, like nifedipine, can be considered a cheap and effective drug for the treatment of premature labor. Although when white blood cells are elevated, nifedipine may be better, which needs more research.
