A Look at the Below Replacement Fertility Problem and the Proper Policies to Solve It |

In recent years, changes in childbearing behavior and a sharp decline in fertility rates in Iran, led to discussions about the policy change and the necessity of administering new policies to deal with low fertility rates. Considering the below replacement level of fertility in Iran, controversy on the completeness and accuracy of the birth registration and lack of proper fertility data to compute the total fertility rate has been considerable. Also, there is a need to pay more attention to the experience of other countries which experienced below replacement fertility far before our country. Therefore, this article aims to have a detailed look at the below replacement fertility in Iran and effective policies to deal with this problem by paying attention to the experience of other countries. |
