Higher education in Iran experienced an obvious quantitative growth in recent years due to the emphasis on its quantitative development. It is clear that the continuation of this growth can cause some problems in the future that need special attention. Here we studied the effect of rapid quantitative development in higher education on balance between supply and demand for skilled labor force in the country. Increasing demand for higher education and expanding educational opportunities leaded to increasing number of university graduates. On the other hand, economic downturn decreased job opportunity and consequently increasing in unemployment of educated class of the society. Here, we studied the labor market in Yazd province, supply and demand of labor force and its influencing factors to find a solution for unemployment problem in university graduates. |
