چکیده فارسی مقاله آنچه در این مقاله مورد توجه قرار گرفته است تعریف و بیان چیستی دین و عقل، جایگاه و اساس دین و عقل با توجه به سخنان امام علی علیه‌السلام در موارد گوناگون. همچنین کاربرد و کارایی آن دو در نظام زندگی و رابطه عقل و دین، کیفیت و چگونگی آن در فهم مسائل دینی و در کشف عامل احکام الهی، استحکام بخشیدن به مبانی دینی از یک طرف و اصلاح و پالایش احکام اصیل و ناب دینی از کج‌اندیشیها و تحریفها، ارائه مسائل و موضوعات دینی توسط عقل، رفع تنافی بین دین و عقلانیت، هدایت و تثبیت در کشف حقایق و فهم مسائل مورد نیاز بشری توسط عقل در پرتو انوار و روشناییهای به دست آمده از سوی دین، پرهیز از دغدغه‌های فکری و انسان‌شناختی و معرفت‌شناختی از طرف دیگر همراه با تعامل و تأثیر متقابل فهم عقلانی و باور دینی.
