چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Kettle-drum beating that is now performed twice a day before Sunrise and Sunset as well as on special occasions in the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (A.S) is a favorable ancient ritual ceremony which traces back several thousand of years in Iran and throughout the world.Having been practiced in ancient Iran, this ceremony has gradually become common in the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (A.S.), with no clear knowledge of how and when exactly it started to be performed here. The oldest report in this regard is related to the late 9th / 15th and early 10th / 16th centuries. Later on, according to historical sources, drum-beating ceremonies have been common in Astan Q uds R azawi during Safavid, Afshar, Q ajar, and Pahlavi eras.Sa fe ga urding the magnifice nce o f th e R azawi H oly San ctua ry a nd announcing spe cial occasions and e ve nts are among the most important reasons for performing such ceremonies in Astan Quds Razawi.The present construction of the kettle-drum-beating portico is erected on top of the western aivan of Sahn-i Inqilab, and now serves as the location for performing the ceremony, standing out as an Islamic architectural monument and symbol in the Holy Shrine complex.
