چکیده انگلیسی مقاله "Bihar al-Anwar al Jama at li Durar Akhba r A'immat al-At har", by Allameh Majlisi is a religio-traditional work which is known as an encyclope dia for Shi ism and the dissemination of Islamic knowlebge (ma arif). With a glance at the tradition of writing encyclopedias in the Islamic world, the author deals with the grounds on which Bihar al-Anwar has appeared. He states that the late Majlisi attempted to compile all Shi ite ma arif, except for Kutub-i Arba a (the four books), in one collection according to its various chapters, considering the pase experience of the destruction of the Shi ite books, irrespect for the traditions ( ahadith), as well as fear of deterioration of the situation in the future.O t he r se ction s of th is ar ticle de a ls with t he ta ble o f con te nt a nd comprehensiveness of Bihar al-Anwar, as well as the authenticity of traditions from the viewpoints of Allameh Majlisi in this colossal project.
