چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Different viewpoints have been expressed in analyzing the story of Adam in the Qur'an. Some have regarded it as unreal, viewing it as relying on presumption and imagination which the Qur'an has made use of to express its objectives. Others, disagreeing with its being imaginative, do not view the story of Adam as a historical event; rather, they regard it as a philosophical story to express profound facts. While accepting the existence of external characters for this story, some exegetes with mystical tendencies have proceeded to esoterically interpret the story. Still other exegetes regard the story of Adam as an allegory of the creation of human species according to which Adam has at a certain jncture exemplified this trend. Also, some do not approve of the predication of the story as contraty to its apparent sense.It can be stated that although the story of Adam has externally and objectively been substantiated, it has actually been the story of all human beings, exemplified in Adam. Besides apparent meanings and genuineness of these meanings, this story enjoys profound concepts including the explanation of human creation.
